ALFAMIX Bitumen Emulsion Production Plant – 5–30 Tonnes/Hour Capacity

ALFAMIX bitumen emulsion production plants offer capacities of 5–30 tonnes/hour, with solutions focused on high product homogeneity, precise dosing and ease of use. Developed for road construction and maintenance companies, municipalities and emulsion producers, the plants are configured according to production needs, site conditions and the preferred level of automation.
The ALFAMIX-manufactured emulsion mill and herringbone gear bitumen pump work together with KROHNE meters and continuous temperature monitoring to provide a controlled production process. A compact layout, container-compatible transport design and different heating options make it easier to adapt the plant to your operation.

Mill, dosing and temperature control working together for high product homogeneity. Emulsion quality depends on uniform bitumen dispersion in the solution, feeding components in the correct proportions and maintaining suitable process temperatures. ALFAMIX offers a production arrangement that addresses these three factors together.

Our own-manufactured emulsion mill supports a homogeneous product by dispersing bitumen in the solution as fine droplets. Feed quantities monitored with KROHNE meters and continuous temperature measurement contribute to repeatable production in accordance with the formulation.

Capacity selection from 5–30 tonnes/hour to suit your needs. ALFAMIX emulsion plants are manufactured with capacity options for different production scales. Capacity is determined by assessing the target emulsion type, daily production plan, raw-material preparation arrangements and dispatch requirements together. The investment is therefore sized according to actual production needs.

ALFAMIX-manufactured emulsion mill. In-house design and manufacture of the mill, one of the plant's main components, provide the advantage of working directly with the manufacturer for technical support and spare parts.
The mill is offered in AISI 316L stainless steel or engineering steel according to the requested application. Material selection takes the chemicals and process conditions into account. This flexibility allows the plant to be prepared according to the formulation and operating expectations.

Herringbone gear bitumen pump for a long service life. The bitumen pump used in the plant is also manufactured by ALFAMIX. Its herringbone gear design is intended for steady transfer of hot bitumen and long-term operation.
Depending on the selected plant configuration, the pump is manufactured for electric or thermal-oil heating. The heating arrangement helps maintain bitumen in a pumpable condition. Obtaining the pump and mill from the same manufacturer facilitates maintenance, component compatibility and service coordination.

Stainless steel solution tank and independent chemical feeding. The solution preparation tank is manufactured from stainless steel. Preparing water, emulsifier and acid according to the formulation provides a controlled feed for the subsequent emulsification stage.

Separate diaphragm pumps are used for acid and emulsifier. Independent feed lines allow the dosing of each chemical to be managed separately. This arrangement facilitates the use of different formulations and control of chemical feeding.

Controlled bitumen and solution feeding with KROHNE meters. KROHNE meters are used in the bitumen and solution lines. Measuring both flows supports feeding the mill with the components in the proportions specified in the formulation. Measurement-based dosing helps maintain product homogeneity and consistency between production runs.

Continuous temperature monitoring at three critical points. During production, thermocouples continuously monitor:
- Solution tank temperature.
- Bitumen inlet temperature.
- Emulsion product outlet temperature.

Monitoring these values on the touchscreen allows the operator to assess production conditions in real time. Electric or thermal-oil heating can be selected according to the existing energy infrastructure. The optional preheating tank adds flexibility to pre-production preparation.

Fully automatic or semi-automatic operation via touchscreen. The plant is offered with fully automatic or semi-automatic control according to the operator's preference. Production parameters, temperatures, feed information and equipment status can be monitored on the operator touchscreen.

The fully automatic configuration allows production steps to be carried out by the automation system. The semi-automatic option allows certain steps to be managed under operator control.

Pneumatic valves with continuous position monitoring. Process valves are controlled by pneumatic actuators. Their open and closed positions are continuously monitored and transmitted to the automation system. The operator can therefore monitor the valve's actual position as well as the command given. This feedback makes it easier to control flow routing and detect possible position discrepancies.

Compact design suitable for container transport. Depending on capacity and selected equipment, the plant is prepared for transport in approximately 6-metre or 12-metre, 20 ft / 40 ft containers. The compact layout facilitates transport arrangements and site layout planning.

The control system is offered with an operator cabin or a panel suitable for outdoor use according to requirements. The arrangement is selected based on site operating conditions and the operator's needs.
Easy sourcing through global brands and standard parts. Electrical switchgear is selected from internationally recognised brands with extensive supply networks. Using standard parts in the design makes maintenance and spare-parts requirements easier to meet in different regions.
